Prices
Where do prices come from?
In Quebec, official prices each station reports to the Régie de l'énergie, read by Gazo every two minutes. Elsewhere in Canada, prices reported by users and, failing that, the area's official estimate: Ontario's weekly average, Statistics Canada's monthly average or the regulated maximum price in the Maritimes.
Why does Quebec have every station's real price?
Because since April 1, 2026, Quebec gas retailers must report their prices in real time to the Régie de l'énergie, which publishes them. No other province requires it for now.
What does “estimate” mean?
When no nearby station has a recent price, Gazo shows the official estimate for your area, with its name and date. It's a benchmark: it's the same for every station in the area, so it's never ranked among real prices.
The price at the pump is different from Gazo. Why?
A price can change between two updates, and a reported price may be a few hours old: the age of every price is shown. The price at the pump always prevails. Outside Quebec, report the right price: you'll help the next driver.
Can a station pay to rank higher?
No. Ranking depends only on price. A partner station gets a badge and a richer listing, never a better rank.
The app
Is Gazo free?
Yes, on iPhone and Android, with no account to create. The free version shows a few ads, never full screen. The Gazo+ subscription is optional.
How does “Go” work?
The button opens Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps (on iPhone) with the station's exact coordinates. You choose your navigation app the first time; you can change it in the settings.
Can I search a city other than mine?
Yes. Search a city or a postal code, in the app as on this site. It's also the way to go if you'd rather not share your location.
How do I report or correct a price?
Open the station page and tap “Report a price”, or “This price is still right” to confirm it. Official Quebec prices cannot be changed: they come straight from the Régie.
Why was my report rejected?
A price too far from the area's prices, or more than 10 reports in an hour, is rejected automatically to protect data quality. Write to us if you think it's a mistake: a person will review the decision.
Gazo+
What does Gazo+ give me?
No ads, price alerts near you, unlimited favourite stations (3 in the free version) and 30-day price history for Quebec stations.
How much is Gazo+?
$2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, in Canadian dollars, at the price shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy.
How do I cancel Gazo+ or restore my purchases?
The subscription is managed in your Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) account settings. After reinstalling, tap “Restore purchases” on the Gazo+ screen.
Partner stations
I run a gas station: how do I become a partner?
Create an account on the partner portal and claim your station. After a manual check, the $49-a-month subscription gives you a badge, a complete listing, a featured promo and statistics.
Is a partner station ranked higher?
Never. The price ranking is the same for every station, partner or not.
Your privacy
Do I need an account?
No. The app creates an anonymous device identifier when installed, which contains no information about you. No name, no email, no phone number.
Does Gazo keep my location?
No. Your location is only used to find nearby stations and is not stored, except the point of a price alert you create yourself.
How do I delete my data?
Tap “Delete my data” in the app settings, or send us the device identifier shown in the settings. We process every request within 30 days.
Does this site use cookies?
No. The Gazo website uses no cookies and no tracking tools. The station search sends your city or location to the server only long enough to answer.
